Visual Dialogue on Death & Dying, Grief & Loss

Exhibition Dates
November 3 – November 28, 2025

Location
Century House and Anvil Community Art Gallery

Judy has been privileged to be one of three jurors selecting work for this 4th year of the exhibition. The selected works will be divided between the two locations. There is an opening event Tuesday, November 4th at Century House (620 8th Street, New Westminster) from 7pm to 8:30pm. Artists will present their work and share their connection to the theme. Light refreshments provided. Free attendance.

We will work to build a community where death is no longer hidden or whispered about. Through visual dialogue, we aim to normalize the totally natural human expression and depth of experience around death and dying. Through art we embrace compassion, understanding where words may not be enough to express the depth of our grief. This community exhibition is a collection of meditations on death, dying, grief, and loss. It is the deeply personal expression of the interplay between individual representations of a universal experience. Each artwork is displayed in dialogue with the concepts of death & dying, but also with each other. The interconnected nature of how we process and express grief is unique to each of us, and yet understood by all.

Visual Dialogue on Death & Dying, Grief & Loss

Exhibition Dates
August 7th to October 31st, 2025

Location
Italian Cultural Centre - Il Museo
3075 Slocan Street, Vancouver, BC

Judy's entry is called "Medusae & Ephyrae". Mature jellyfish are called Medusae. They carry a cloud of sperm or eggs ready to release. You can see why these mature jellyfish with long flowing tentacles caused ancient mariners to image the head of the flying gorgon Medusa.
